Bihar Government's Big Decision Before Elections, Constitutes Bihar Youth Commission

Bihar Government Constitutes Bihar Youth Commission Latest News Updates: Patna, Jul 08: The Bihar Cabinet on Tuesday approved the constitution of “Bihar Youth Commission” to make the youths of the state a self-reliant, skilled and employment-oriented.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Altogether 43 decisions were taken at the cabinet meet.
“I am happy to inform that the cabinet in its meeting held today decided to approve the constitution of ‘Bihar Youth Commission’. The Commission has been constituted to make the youths of the state strong and capable with a view to provide them employment opportunities and training,” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his comment on social media platform “X”.

The Commission would play a significant role in advising the government on all the matters relating to improving and uplifting the status of youths in the society, Kumar said while adding that it would also coordinate with the government departments to ensure better education and employment to youths.

It will also monitor that the local youths of the state get priority in private sector employment within the state besides protecting the interests of youths studying and working outside the state, Kumar said.

Preparing programmes for the prevention of alcohol and other drugs which promote social evils and sending recommendations to the government in such cases will also be its important work, the CM said and added that the objective of the state government’s visionary initiative is that the youth should become self-reliant, skilled and employment-oriented.

There will be a chairman, two vice presidents and seven members in the Commission, Cabinet Secretariat Department’s Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth told reporters here in a post cabinet briefing. The maximum age of the Commission’s chairman and members will be 45, he added. 

The Commission will consider and suggest on the work relating to youths, Siddharth said adding that it would give suggestions to improve the lot of youths living and working outside the state, unemployed youths or meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections.
