It has been decided to double the honorarium of cooks working in mid-day meals under the Education Department from Rs 1650 to Rs 3300.

Nitish Kumar Doubles Honorarium for Cooks, Guards, and Instructors in Bihar: Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar tweeted from the X handle that since the formation of the government in November 2005, our government has been continuously working to improve the education system. In the year 2005, the total budget of education was Rs 4366 crore, which has now increased to Rs 77690 crore. A large number of teachers were appointed, construction of new school buildings and development of infrastructure has led to extensive improvement in the education system.

Cooks, night guards and physical education and health instructors have played an important role in strengthening the education system. Keeping this in mind, we have decided to double the honorarium of these workers by giving a respectable increase.

It has been decided to double the honorarium of cooks working in mid-day meals under the Education Department from Rs 1650 to Rs 3300.  At the same time, it has been decided to double the honorarium of night watchman working in secondary/higher education schools from Rs.5000 to Rs.10000. It has also been decided to double the honorarium of physical education and health instructors from Rs.8000 to Rs.16000. It has also been decided to increase their annual salary increment from Rs.200 to Rs.400. This will increase the morale of the working personnel and they will perform their tasks with more enthusiasm and dedication.
