Aadhaar Card Update Latest News: In a significant development, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for 'free' Aadhaar document updates, particularly addressing the need for altering addresses or mobile number on the card. The previous cutoff of December 14, 2023, has now been extended to March 14, 2024, offering citizens additional time to avail themselves of this service.

The UIDAI, in an "office memorandum," expressed that the extension was a response to the positive engagement from residents. During this extended period, the facility for document updates will continue to be free of cost through the myAadhaar portal at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

Both online and offline modes are available for making updates. For offline updates at an Aadhaar center, a nominal service fee of Rs 50 will be charged.
