AIIMS Delhi Patients, Caretakers Can Opt for Rest Houses If They Have No Place to Stay
Dr Dada added that the rest houses are clean and offer single, double, triple, and quadruple-bed rooms, along with facility of hygienic food
Patients admitted to AIIMS Delhi and their caretakers who have no place to stay in the national capital can avail accommodation at the hospital’s rest houses, AIIMS Delhi said on Wednesday.
If a patient or caretaker visiting AIIMS Delhi or its branches in Delhi does not have accommodation, they can get a comfortable stay at the hospital rest houses after obtaining written permission from the treating doctor.
Professor and Media In-charge, Department of Anatomy, AIIMS Delhi, Dr Rima Dada, speaking to news agency ANI, said that during the biting cold, around 18,000 to 20,000 people visit AIIMS daily, including patients from distant places and neighbouring states, many of whom do not have accommodation in Delhi.
She said there are around 1,500 beds across rest houses in the hospital premises, and patients or their caretakers can stay there, subject to availability and written permission from the doctor.
Dr Dada added that the rest houses are clean and offer single, double, triple, and quadruple-bed rooms, along with the facility of hygienic food.
“If you do not have a place to stay in Delhi, please ask your doctor about it. If a bed is available, we will definitely provide one,” she said.
She further stated that dashboards displaying live bed occupancy and availability have been installed for transparency. Entry to rest houses is permitted only for patients and their caretakers after verification of ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ID, UHID (Unique Health Identification), and Aadhaar cards.
CCTV cameras have also been installed in rest houses to ensure safety.
