Farmers Protest 2024 Fact Check News/RSFC (Team Mohali): A picture of former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is going viral on social media which is being linked with the ongoing farmers' protest. It is being claimed that MS Dhoni went to Gurudwara (Sikh Temple) to support the farmers amid the ongoing protest.
The Twitter account "Dr Nimo Yadav Commentary" shared the viral picture on February 26, 2024 and wrote, "Mahendra singh Dhoni didn’t go to Ram Mandir Pran Prathisthan after being invited but he has visited Gurudwara today during ongoing farmer’s protest. MSD is a man with spine who is still upholding secular values."
Spokesman has found the viral claim to be misleading in its investigation. The viral picture is not recent but from 2022 and has nothing to do with the recent farmers' protest.

Starting the investigation, we first did a reverse image search of this image. We found this picture shared on X on March 26, 2024. X account "Gurpreet Singh Anand" shared this picture and wrote, "Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the @khalsajatha"
The user below clarified by replying to a user saying that this picture is not recent but 18 months old when Gurpreet met Mahendra Singh Dhoni at Khalsa Jatha Sikh Temple in United Kingdom.
During the same search, we found the viral picture shared by Gurpreet Singh Anand on July 17, 2022 on Instagram. Hence, it is clear that the viral picture is not recent but of 2022 and it has no connection with the ongoing farmers' protest.
