Mandi: The hoteliers of Kullu-Manali met the Deputy Commissioner and requested him to revoke the section 144 with immediate effect.Fearing a setback for the tourism industry, the hoteliers association of Kullu-Manadi fearing a setback to the tourism industry met the DC and urged him to reconsider the imposition of section 144.
The association members requested the DC to revoke the section 144 immediately otherwise they will suffer regularly as the tourist flow is being decreased after the local authorities order.
Association president Gajender Thakur said a delegation of hoteliers would urge the Deputy Commissioner and request him to revoke Section 144.
A few days back, taxi operators in Manali held a chakka jam to pressurise the district administration to consider their demands, who urged the authorities to restore the permission for blacklisted vehicles, which were banned to ply on the Manali-Rohtang route.
However, the district administration has blacklisted vehicles plying on the Manali- Rohtang route and misusing the Rohtang permit. After strike of taxi operators, the district administration had imposed Section 144 in the town and security was beefed up to maintain law and order situation.
