Kangra: Clearing the decks for setting up of the part of Central University at Dehra the district revenue authorities are scheduled to demarcate 3,500 kanals land transferred to the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) on July 10, 2017. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the university next month.
Former Irrigation and Public Health Minister and sitting MLA from Dehra Thakur Ravinder Singh Ravi disclosing this here said that Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar would accompany the Prime Minister during the foundation stone laying ceremony in August.
Ravi said that 7,500 kanals of land was identified at Dehra for CUHP out of which 3,500 kanals land was transferred to the CUHP. Mutation of the transferred land had been completed.
He said that there was delay in demarcating land by the state government which was now being carried out. If more land was required for its further expansion it was available, he added.
When asked about Dharamsala campus, Ravinder Ravi said no land had been selected for the purpose as yet. Meanwhile, Hans Raj Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, confirmed that the land demarcation will be held at Dehra on July 10 at 11 am in the presence of the CUHP authorities.
