Kullu: The family of missing trekker Abhishek Kharbanda (23) of Chandigarh alleged foul play behind his disappearance near Shrikhand Mahadev in Kullu. He has been missing since July 4.
Abhishek and Virender Rawat, both from Chandigarh, and Rahul and Sachin, from Solan, had gone trekking and reached Shrikhand Mahadev peak on July 4. When the boys returned, they informed the police that Abhishek had gone missing and could not be traced.
The maternal uncle of the victim Harvinder Singh wrote a letter to the DSP, Anni, to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case as they smelt foul play behind the incident.
They urged the police to check call details of the victim as well as his friends. DSP Baldev Thakur said the victim was still untraced and the police were monitoring the case minutely.
