Shimla: Zila Parishad member from Throla ward, Kotkhai Neelam Sairaik and four women panchayat pradhans today gave five-day ultimatum to the state government. If the police fail to nab the culprits, they will hold “chakka jam” at Gumma.

Accompanied by Lata Ghazta, pradhan, Ratnari panchayat, Ambika Dharmaik, pradhan, Khaneti, Mamta Thakur, pradhan, Kayarvi, and Tara Chauhan, pradhan, Kiran ( Chopal), Saraik told a press conference that the incident had maligned the image of the Devbhumi and created an atmosphere of insecurity among women in the Mahasu area that falls in Throla ward.

The Chief Minister should provide an assistance worth Rs 30 lakh to the family of the victim as Rs 5 lakh was nothing considering the emotional trauma the family had undergone for the last seven days.

The public anger and anguish over the heinous crime spread throughout the state with Kangra MP and senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar announcing Rs 1 lakh reward to anyone who provides clue to the police to bring the culprits to justice. Various NGOs and social organisations demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
