Dharamsala: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh inaugurated the SDM office at Indora through teleconferencing today. The newly opened SDM office has not yet been granted approval by the Himachal Cabinet.
The Indora Assembly Constituency is represented by independent MLA Manohar Dhiman. He was earlier considered close to Virbhadra and was even an associate member of the Congress legislative group. However, last month he joined the BJP. Sources said in the last Cabinet, the agenda for opening up the SDM office in Indora was put on hold as Dhiman had joined the BJP. However, today the Chief Minister inaugurated the office of SDM in Indora. At present, the SDM office has no building of its own, it was declared open on two floors of a local government office.
Virbhadra Singh was scheduled to visit Fatehpur, Nurpur and Indora constituencies of Kangra district. However, he had to cancel his visit due to inclement weather. Sources here said his helicopter after taking off from Shimla had to return midway due to bad weather. Thereafter, Minister for Transport, Technical Education and Food And Civil Supplies GS Bali inaugurated the projects pertaining to his departments and Minister for Power and Agriculture Sujjan Singh Pathania opened other projects on the behalf of Chief Minister. Virbhadra also inaugurated the projects through teleconferencing from Shimla.
He inaugurated several projects worth Rs 70 crore from the state Secretariat which included 133 KV electric substation and Polytechnic College for women at Kadana (Rehan).
Bali and Pathania were present on the spot where the functions took place and unveiled plaques on behalf of the CM. Pathania said 133 KV electric substation would benefit 110 villages of Indora, Fatehpur and Jawali with a population of 1.25 lakh, besides minimising transmission losses.
The CM also announced laying of foundation stone of the Kudal-Jagnoli-Ghaith-Challa-Nagal-Jakhbad road. The 10-kilometre stretch will benefit the population of five panchayats of the Fatehpur Constituency. He also announced the inauguration of a police post at Dhangupeer. The CM also announced the inauguration of the Ayurveda Hospital at Suliali in the Nurpur Constituency, where Nurpur MLA Ajay Mahajan unveiled plaques on behalf of the CM. He also announced inauguration of a water supply scheme which would cater to the population of Dev-Bharari and Loharpura Panchayats.
