Haryana Farmers May Generate Mandi Gate Passes from Home

Haryana Farmers May Generate Mandi Gate Passes from Home: Farmers in Haryana will no longer need to wait in long queues at mandi gates for the procurement of paddy and other Kharif crops this season. The Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) has launched a new mobile app, enabling farmers to generate digital gate passes from the comfort of their homes, making the process more convenient and efficient.

An HSAMB spokesperson explained that starting next Tuesday, all farmers are encouraged to bring their produce to the mandis, ensuring that crops are properly dried to prevent any issues during the selling process. Previously, farmers often faced lengthy waits at the mandi gates due to the requirement of physical gate passes.

The newly introduced system allows farmers to generate digital gate passes using the 'e-Kharid mobile application' or by visiting the 'e-Kharid website' (ekharid.haryana.gov.in). This self-service option eliminates the need for farmers to collect gate passes at the mandi, significantly reducing delays and paperwork. Additionally, the app provides detailed information on the produce, gate passes, J-forms, and payment status.

Farmers can choose their preferred mandi and date for bringing their verified produce, and once the digital gate pass is generated, they can easily enter the mandi by scanning a QR code or using a self-generated pass number.

This new system is designed to streamline the agricultural procurement process, making it faster and more transparent. HSAMB has already trained field officers, who will further train mandi employees and commission agents, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system for farmers across Haryana.
