Punjab MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney asks Centre to publish MSP panel report in 2 months

Punjab News: Rajya Sabha member Vikramjit Singh Sahney from Punjab has called for the Centre to release the report from the committee that was established to address the MSP issue following the farmers' protests. He urged that the report be made public within the next one to two months.

During a discussion on the Union Budget in the Rajya Sabha, Sahney also requested a substantial allocation for Punjab from the Rs 1.5 lakh crore set aside for long-term interest-free loans to states.

He emphasized the need for the MSP committee report to be published promptly and advocated for the promotion of farmer-producer organizations, suggesting that the rules for their formation be made more flexible to better empower farmers. Sahney also highlighted several priorities, including job training, the absorption of 50% of Agniveers into paramilitary forces, the establishment of a mega industrial park in Jalandhar or Ludhiana, and the upgrading of the SCL park in Mohali.
