Farmers adament march toward Chandigarh, Borders sealed, Commutars stranded latest news: Some farmer leaders were arrested by the police yesterday for getting ready to stage a permanent protest in Chandigarh today on the United Kisan Morcha's call, but today the farmers began marching towards Chandigarh, on which the Punjab Police put a heavy police force on the roads today to stop the farmers from reaching Chandigarh.

The farmers are being halted by the police by making a blockade. The farmers are going to organize a protest in Sector-34 in Chandigarh but they have yet to take permission from the Chandigarh Administration.

At the same time, Chandigarh Police has sealed the Chandigarh borders. The farmer organizations have been halted at Samrala, Khanna and Zirakpur.

The Chandigarh Police has announced an advisory for traffic and a jam-like situation is prevailing in the city. The public is having a lot of difficulty in reaching their destination.

Around 1500 personnel of Chandigarh Police have been deployed. There are also arrangements to deploy reserve personnel. Chandigarh Police had earlier released a traffic advisory recommending that people should not cross 12 roads.

United Kisan Morcha had declared to organize a protest in all state capitals on March 5. As per this, Punjab farmers have declared to organize a protest in Chandigarh.
