Diljit Dosanjh Sardaar Ji 3 latest news updates: Ahead of the release of Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3, the iconic and world-famous Punjabi singer is facing backlash for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film.
The film is scheduled for an overseas-only release on June 27.
Sharing the trailer, which was released on June 22, Dosanjh wrote on Instagram, “Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only. FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN-“Get ready for a wild ride!”)
The comment section of the singer-actor’s Instagram handle is filled with mixed reactions, with many criticizing the casting of Hania Aamir.
One fan wrote strongly, “Diljit paaji lost all the respect.”
Others labeled him “traitor,” “daddar” (coward), and even “anti-national.”
Another user commented, “Sorry for not supporting you on this project. I really admire your music and acting, but not this one!”
The production studio also shared the poster and captioned it, “We’re excited to announce that Sardaar Ji 3 will be releasing overseas on June 27! However, the India release will be held back for now. We truly appreciate your love and patience, and we’ll be sharing the India release date very soon. Stay tuned for updates—we can’t wait for you all to experience the film on the big screen!”
One emotional comment read, “Soldiers may have died, but these people’s friendship hasn’t ended (Soldiers marr jae par in logo ki friendship khatam nahi hui.)”
These reactions come in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 tourists were killed in the Baisaran meadows of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Resistance Front (TRF)—a shadow group of Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba—claimed responsibility for the attack.
Following the attack, India launched 'Operation Sindoor', a military strike targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and parts of Pakistan.
Subsequently, Pakistani actress Hania Aamir criticized the operation, drawing outrage from Indian netizens. India banned the social media accounts of several Pakistani celebrities.
Despite the controversy, some fans continue to support Diljit Dosanjh and the film, “I’ve only watched two Punjabi movies till now, but I’m so excited for @haniaheheofficial... I’ll definitely watch this one!”

A different user drew a comparison to Bollywood, writing,“Netizens tried to flop Aamir Khan’s movie, but even that turned out to be a super hit.”
