Chaos at Rupinder Handa’s Edmonton Concert: Team Blames Local Promoter for Mismanagement

Edmonton, Canada: What was expected to be a lively and smooth concert featuring Punjabi singer Rupinder Handa turned chaotic, with her team now blaming the local promoter for severe mismanagement.

According to a detailed statement shared by the artist’s team on social media, Rupinder Handa arrived in Edmonton on time at 1:30 PM, well ahead of her scheduled performance. However, her team claims there was no coordination from the local organizers — no one received her at the airport, and no hotel details were provided.

The statement alleges that the promoter only contacted the singer after she reached the venue parking lot, where she was briefly welcomed with a flower bouquet and asked to leave without being given clear guidance. Hotel details were reportedly shared with her only at 2:38 PM. Upon reaching the hotel, she was again left unattended and eventually received help from sponsors — not the promoter’s team — to get settled.

Despite the disorganization, Rupinder Handa performed for one and a half hours. However, tensions reportedly escalated after the show. Her team alleges that the promoter and her husband attempted to confine her to the stage and forcibly stopped her from leaving. They reportedly pressured her to address the audience and even tried to snatch her phone when she attempted to contact her original promoter.

Rupinder Handa’s team has expressed gratitude to the Edmonton audience and local supporters, some of whom helped her navigate the situation. Videos of the incident are currently circulating online.

"Team Rupinder Handa thanks Edmonton for their support and condemns the mismanagement and unprofessional behavior of the organizers," the team wrote.

The team has condemned the conduct of the local organizers and called for accountability, emphasizing that the artist fulfilled her commitments despite the challenges.
