Delhi Police Arrest Goldy Dhillon Gang Member Linked to Shooting at Kapil Sharma’s Canada Café
On Friday, the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested Bandhu Maan Singh Sekhon, a man who was allegedly involved in the series of shootings at Kap's Café, owned by comedian Kapil Sharma in Canada, police sources said. According to authorities, Sekhon was a key member of the gang led by Goldy Dhillon, and he was responsible for arranging weapons and other logistics for attacking the café.
Police confirmed that a Chinese-made PX-3 pistol was recovered from him at the time of arrest. It is a significant piece of evidence in the investigation. Officials added that after the shooting in Canada, Sekhon reportedly fled to India, but intelligence inputs helped trace and nab him.
Kap’s Café has been attacked multiple times this year. The first incident occurred on July 10; according to eyewitness accounts, gunshots were fired outside the café while staff were inside. There were no casualties, though windows and walls were damaged. A second attack took place in early August, when over 25 shots were reportedly fired. Again, no casualties were reported, but the video of the attack caused widespread alarm. The third shooting happened in mid-October, once again leaving property damaged but not injuring anyone, police sources added.
As law enforcement officials noted, associates of Goldy Dhillon and the network of Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for these attacks via social media that included threats – not only against the café, but also hinting at possible action in other cities, including Mumbai. Investigators believe their motive may go beyond harassment, like extortion or intimidation of Indian-origin businesses abroad, with an eye on high-profile names in the entertainment industry.
With Sekhon in custody and the seizure of weapons, Delhi Police, in cooperation with central agencies, said the arrest is a major blow against a cross-border criminal network. Authorities are reportedly probing whether there are more operatives still active in India or abroad and exploring the entire chain of command behind the attacks.
Police officials told reporters that this development is a strong signal that even international criminal conspiracies targeting Indian personalities and their business ventures will not go unchecked. For Kap’s Café and Kapil Sharma, the arrest could bring some kind of relief, and for many people, it is a reminder of how global crime networks are being challenged through coordinated policing and legal action.
