71 National Film Awards;12th Fail Best Film, Vikrant Massey, Shah Rukh Khan Share Best Actor News: The 71st National Film Awards ceremony is being held today at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The annual event celebrates the best works of Indian cinema.
President Droupadi Murmu is presenting awards to winners across various categories. 12th Fail has won the Best Film, and Vikrant Massey, who played the lead role in the film, has won the Best Actor award. The Best Actor in a Leading Role award has been shared by Shah Rukh Khan for Jawan and Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail. Rani Mukerji has been awarded Best Actress in a Leading Role for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.

In the non-feature film category, the Swarna Kamal for Best Non-Feature Film has been awarded to Flowering Man (Hindi), directed by Soumyajit Ghosh Dastidar, according to DD News.
Director Sanjeev Parashar is honoured with the National Film Award for Best Biographical/Historical Reconstruction Compilation for the English film Lentina Ao.
The Hindi short film The Silent Epidemic won the Rajat Kamal for Best Short Film promoting social and environmental values, while the Best Cinematography award went to the late Saravanamaruthu Soundarapandi for the Tamil film Little Wings. In the non-feature film category, the Rajat Kamal for Best Screenplay was presented to Chachchidananda S. Naik for the Kannada film Non-Flowers Were the First Ones to Know.
Dr. Itirani Samanta received the Special Mention Award for the Odia film The Sea and the Seven Villages, produced by Kadambini Media Pvt. Ltd., recognized for its depiction of climate displacement and the struggles of Odisha’s coastal communities.
The Best Music Direction (Songs) award was conferred to G. V. Prakash Kumar for Vaathi (Tamil), while Harshavardhan Rameshwar won the Best Music Direction (Background Music) for Animal (Hindi). Best Lyrics went to Kasarla Shyam for Balagam in Ooru Palleturu. Vaibhavi Merchant won Best Choreography for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Dhindhora Baje Re), and Nandu & Prudhvi received the Best Action Direction (Stunt Choreography) award for Hanu-Man (Telugu). Shrikant Desai won Best Make-up for Sam Bahadur (Hindi).

Utpal Datta received the Swarn Kamal for Best Film Critic, recognized for his significant writings on Assamese cinema, while the film God, Vulture and Human won the Rajat Kamal for Best Documentary.
