'All India Rank' Movie Real Story

All India Rank movie based on true real story? Following the huge success of Vikrant Massey's '12th Fail', Varun Grover has released the his directorial debut feature film 'All India Rank'. The film revolves around the story of a 17-year-old boy named Vivek who goes to a coaching centre which is far away from his home. Vivek wants to prepare for the highly competitive IIT entrance examination.

The film was earlier premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. It was written and directed by Varun Grover. Talking about the film, the writer and comedian had earlier said that everyone struggles when they are at 17. With ‘All India Rank’, he wanted to capture exactly that phase of the lives that people usually go through.

Featuring Bodhisattva Sharma in the lead role alongside Shashi Bhushan, Samta Sudiksha, Geeta Agarwal and Sheeba Chaddha, the film is set in the late 90s which is often known as the pre-mobile era.

Grover had earlier told the media that the film was a semi-autobiography which shows joy, confusion, love, doubt, hope and cynicism that comes at the age of 17.

He had told that the film was a semi-autobiographical slice-of-life dramedy and a time capsule of life in the India of the 1990s.
