How Much Were Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty Paid for Hera Pheri? Fees Revealed Amid Hera Pheri 3 Controversies

Fees of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty for Hera Phiri revealed , latest news: Legendary actor Paresh Rawal recently announced his exit from the upcoming film Hera Pheri 3. Akshay Kumar is reportedly planning to take legal action against him. Amid this, the fees of the cast of the original film Hera Pheri have been revealed.

Hera Pheri franchise includes Hera Pheri (2000), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), and the upcoming Hera Pheri 3.  It remains one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedy franchises.

Earlier reports cited creative differences as the reason, the actor later clarified later on that his exit was not due to “creative differences.”

However, India Today reported that the real reason behind his departure was a hefty fee demand, which the production team reportedly couldn't meet.

Amid these developments, details about the fees of the lead actors in the original Hera Pheri (2000) have resurfaced. As per a report by Entertainment Times, the film was made on a budget of rupees 7.5 crore and went on to earn rupees 24.5 crore at the box office—a substantial profit at the time.

The report further read that a YouTube video by Reality Universe, cited in the report, revealed the cast’s remuneration for the original film. According to the video, Akshay Kumar was paid Rs 20 Lakh for the film, Sunil shetty was paid around Rs 19-20 lakh, and Paresh Rawal was paid 16-17 lakh.

Regarding Paresh Rawal’s exit, India Today reported that Akshay Kumar has filed a lawsuit demanding rupees 25 crore for his alleged sudden departure. Suniel Shetty reportedly told the outlet that neither he nor Akshay was aware of Rawal’s decision to leave the film.

Akshay Kumar had recently acquired the sequel rights from producer Firoz Nadiadwala, and the project had only just begun when the dispute arose.

Speaking to Mid-Day, Paresh Rawal said, “I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is I opted out because I don’t feel like a part of it.”

He also made it clear that this is his final decision for now, though he added that "one never knows what the future holds."
