Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: Actor Suniel Shetty on Wednesday offered prayers at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain ahead of the theatrical release of Border 2, which features his son Ahan Shetty alongside actors Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan.
Speaking to the media, Shetty said he prayed for the health and blessings of himself, his family and his friends.
“The film that’s releasing features my son Ahan and Nidhi, who is becoming a producer for the first time and is also the writer of the film. May this film succeed and do well for Ahan and everyone else involved,” Shetty said.
“When a film does well, it keeps the entire industry going,” he added.
Actor Ahan Shetty plays an important role in Border 2, which is scheduled to be released on 23 January 2026, three days ahead of Republic Day. The film is directed by Anurag Singh.
Producer Nidhi Dutta is the daughter of veteran filmmaker JP Dutta, who directed the iconic 1997 film Border. Nidhi is one of the directors of Border 2, alongside J.P. Dutta, director of the original Border film.
Ahan Shetty made his Bollywood debut with Tadap, released in 2021, in which he starred opposite Tara Sutaria. The film earned Rs 35 crore at the box office against a budget of Rs 27 crore.
