Tragic Loss: Tamil Actor Vijay Antony’s 16-Year-Old Daughter Commits Suicide at Chennai Residence

CHENNAI: Meera Antony, the 16-year-old daughter of renowned Tamil actor and composer Vijay Antony, was found dead by suicide in their residence in Chennai. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, September 19, sending shockwaves through the Tamil film fraternity.

Vijay Antony's daughter Meera Antony, a Class 12th student, at a reputable school in Chennai, was discovered hanging in her home. Immediate efforts were made to rush her to the nearest private hospital, but tragically, the medical professionals declared her deceased upon arrival. While the exact reasons behind this unfortunate act remain unknown, preliminary investigations suggest that Meera had been battling depression.

The unexpected loss of Vijay Antony’s daughter has left the Tamil film industry in mourning. Colleagues and friends from the industry expressed their deepest condolences and sympathies to Vijay Antony and his family during this trying time. 

R Sarath Kumar, an actor and director took to 'X' (Formerly Called as Twitter) and wrote, "The news of the untimely and unfortunate demise of Meera, the daughter of  Vijay Antony and Fatima is shocking beyond imaginations. No amount of consoling and condolences can replace the everlasting grief of Vijay Antony and Fatima. Vijay I hope the almighty gives strength to your family to bear this unfathomable loss. May her soul rest in peace."

Meera's passing has not only deeply impacted the film community but also moved Vijay Antony's fans, who took to social media to share their sorrow and pay tribute to the departed soul. Vijay Antony, a well-known music composer and actor in the Tamil film industry, is married to Fathima Vijay Antony, who is an integral part of their production house. The couple has another daughter named Lara. Vijay Antony is currently engrossed in his forthcoming movie, Raththam.
