Salman Khan playing Sikh cop

Mumbai: Not only the common man but even the singers from Punjab questioned the silence of Bollywood stars who take pride in essaying Sikh roles in movies but are now keeping mum on issues that are bothering the Punjabis.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan's first look in the role of a Sikh cop in his forthcoming movie Antim: The Final Truth has released, and people are calling out his double standards.

Salman Khan can be seen donning a turban and wearing sunglasses. The movie is being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.

On social networking site Twitter, Salman Khan is getting trolled for this new look.

‘This Muslim man is wearing Turban, and become fake Sikh...please portrait him like ISI funded Khalistani as you do with farmers and supporters......’ a user wrote.

‘But he is not showing up any interest in supporting Sikhs / farmers in the #FarmersProtest why they want to make money in the name of a community but get mum when they need their support? Disappointing! ‘wrote another user.

Another user wrote, "don’t you think you should address #Farmers Protest before donning a Punjabi Sikh attire (which represents a majority of farmers) in your upcoming film??? Sure you all make money off of Punjabi, Haryanvi and Bihari culture but can stand up for their causes?"

Another user wrote, “Salman bhai, don't be like Akshay Kumar, Sunny Deol or Ajay Devgn who only made money playing sikh. Be a Khan, support Farmers.”
