Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Visit Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan, Video Goes Viral
This isn’t the first time Kohli and Anushka have turned to spirituality during tough times.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, along with their children, recently visited Premanand Maharaj Ji in Vrindavan, seeking blessings and solace after Kohli's challenging cricketing stint in Australia. During their interaction, Premanand Maharaj lauded Kohli for bringing joy to the nation through his cricketing achievements. A video capturing this heartfelt moment has gone viral, earning admiration from fans worldwide.
This isn’t the first time Kohli and Anushka have turned to spirituality during tough times. A few years ago, the couple visited Neem Karoli Baba Ashram in Kainchi Dham while Kohli was navigating another rough patch in his career.
Kohli's Form in Australia
In the recent series against Australia, Kohli struggled to find his usual rhythm, managing just 190 runs in nine innings at an average of 23.75. While he began the series with a century in Perth, Australian bowlers exploited his weakness outside the off-stump, leading to his dismissal in eight innings.
Adding to the drama, Kohli found himself in a heated on-field altercation with 19-year-old Sam Konstas during the fourth Test in Melbourne. The shoulder bump incident occurred during Konstas's fiery innings against India's pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah. Kohli was fined 20% of his match fees for the unsportsmanlike act but avoided suspension.
The series also saw Kohli visibly upset with crowd behavior, reacting to taunts and "sandpaper" gestures from spectators. His underwhelming performance in the red-ball format has reignited discussions about his Test future, with some experts suggesting a stint in domestic cricket to regain form.
Focus Shifts to White-Ball Cricket
Kohli will now turn his attention to white-ball cricket as Team India prepares for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, starting February 19. Alongside captain Rohit Sharma, who also had a difficult series in Australia, Kohli is expected to anchor India's batting lineup in the tournament.
