Speaker Sandhwan Announces New School Campaign to Fight Food Adulteration

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Friday announced that the government is set to launch an awareness campaign in schools to curb the crisis of food adulteration across the state.

The initiative will utilise seminars and functions to demonstrate quality checking of substandard or adulterated products, including milk, cheese, ghee, and other milk products.

Speaker Sandhwan said that the campaign would commence from Kotkapura in the Faridkot district.

He further said that common people will also be invited to these school functions to observe the testing methods so they can learn to check product quality at their own level.

He emphasised a zero-tolerance approach and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found involved in adulteration. He said that "no one will be spared despite personal relations and kinship."

The Speaker called for the support of all Punjabis in this campaign, highlighting the state government's efforts to eradicate the menace and maintain the health of the people of Punjab.
