Garhwal Commissioner directs officials to shelter stranded pilgrims at safe locations, resume journey only after routes are cleared.
The Garhwal Commissioner has directed all concerned District Magistrates and officials to ensure that pilgrims already on the route are accommodated at safe locations. They have also been instructed to allow the onward journey only after the routes are declared completely safe. Officials have further been asked to disseminate timely and accurate information to pilgrims and the general public through the media and other communication channels. The pilgrimage will resume once the routes are safe and the situation returns to normal. Pilgrims have been urged not to pay attention to rumours, to follow only official advisories issued by the administration, and to comply with the instructions of the respective district authorities until weather conditions and route safety improve.
