IMD issues rain alert for all 75 UP districts, with very heavy rainfall predicted in seven, including Saharanpur.

The monsoon has become active again in UP. Since Tuesday morning, heavy rain has been falling intermittently in 15 cities, including Noida, Meerut, and Gonda. In Saharanpur, torrential rain fell at 4 am in the early hours. Two hours of relentless downpour caused waterlogging of 2-3 feet on the roads. Water rose knee-deep in the DM office campus.

Additionally, water seeped into the Officers' Colony, which houses the homes of high-ranking officials such the District Judge, Commissioner, and Municipal Commissioner. In the city, the majority of colonies became ponds. Homes and businesses were flooded. A field in Raebareli developed a two-foot-deep crater as a result of the rain. Villagers discovered a tunnel beneath it when they saw it. When ASI representatives arrived, they started an inquiry.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for all 75 districts of UP today. Very heavy rain is expected in 7 districts, and heavy rain in 53 districts. Prior to this, yesterday, that is Monday, more than 25 cities including Gorakhpur and Barabanki received rainfall.

Two cars were crushed when a 45-year-old peepal tree in Vrindavan collapsed close to the Banke Bihari Temple. Two kids were playing outside their house in Rampur when they fell into an overflowing drain. One was saved, and the other perished.

Meanwhile, due to rainfall in the hills, the Ganga, Yamuna, Ghaghara, and Saryu rivers are in spate. In Lakhimpur Kheri, erosion has washed away 120 bighas of sugarcane crop into the Sharda river. In Ballia, Saryu's water has entered villages, forcing people to leave their homes for safer locations.
