The state government has scheduled flower showers from helicopters in seven districts on August 9 and 10, providing Kanwariyas on western Uttar Pradesh's main highways with an airborne flowery welcome.
The government's exact timetable states that the chopper will leave Lucknow for Baghpat on August 9 at around eight in the morning. From 10.30 am to 11.15 am, kanwariyas (devotees of Lord Shiva) in the Baghpat region will be showered with flower petals.
After that, the chopper will travel to Saharanpur, where from 11.45 am to 12.45 pm, devotees will be greeted with flowers. The program will continue from 1.30 to 2.15 p.m. in Muzaffarnagar and from 3.45 to 4.30 p.m. in Meerut.
On the first day, the helicopter will fly for a total of six hours and ten minutes.
The helicopter will depart from Meerut on August 10 and drop flower petals on Kanwariyas in Ghaziabad between 8.30 and 9.15 in the morning. After that, it will travel to Hapur, where from 9.45 am to 10.30 am, devotees will receive a floral greeting. From 11.15 am to noon, it will travel to Bulandshahr. The chopper will leave Bulandshahr for Lucknow at 12:30 pm after the program is finished.
The two-day aerial flower shower campaign will last nine hours and fifty-five minutes altogether, with three hours and forty-five minutes of flying time on the second day, according to the statement. These arrangements form part of the state government's initiative to organise the annual Shravan Kanwar Yatra with grandeur, safety and discipline, ensuring devotees have a spiritually fulfilling experience throughout the pilgrimage.
