Punjab Cabinet clears major decisions on education, school fees and employee welfare.

The Punjab Cabinet has approved several major decisions aimed at promoting the state's development, strengthening the education sector, and safeguarding the interests of employees. Addressing a press conference after the Cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema shared detailed information about the key decisions taken by the government.

The Cabinet approved a significant decision to regulate arbitrary fee increases by private schools. The government has cleared amendments to the existing school fee legislation, paving the way for a new bill that is expected to provide major relief to parents and the general public by ensuring greater transparency and control over school fees.

The Cabinet also took an important step for outsourced employees working under the contract system. A special Money Bill has been approved to bring outsourced workers under the direct control of the government. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated that the bill will be introduced in the ongoing Punjab Legislative Assembly session in the coming days.

In a major boost to higher education, the Punjab government has announced the establishment of three new digital universities across the state:

Hoshiarpur: Punjab's first Cloud University will be established here, offering students modern, technology-driven education through advanced digital learning methods.

Fatehpur, Patiala: A second digital university will be set up in Fatehpur village of Patiala district.

Nandpur Kesho, Patiala: The third digital university, to be established under the Physics Wallah name, will come up in Nandpur Kesho village of Patiala district.

The government said these decisions are expected to modernize the state's education system while also providing greater job security and improved prospects for contractual and outsourced employees.
