Keval Singh Dhillon places sacred soil kalash on his head, sends yatra forward on its Punjab journey.
The Kalash Yatra launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party from Sant Guru Ravidas Ji's birthplace, Seer Govardhanpur (Varanasi), under the 'Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan' dedicated to the saint's 650th birth anniversary, arrived in Punjab today. At Lalru, the sacred yatra received a warm and enthusiastic welcome under the leadership of Punjab BJP President Keval Singh Dhillon. On this occasion, expressing his devotion and reverence, Dhillon placed the kalash containing sacred soil from Guru Ji's birthplace on his head and sent the yatra forward on its journey through Punjab.
Addressing the gathering on this historic occasion, Keval Singh Dhillon said that today marks a truly historic day. He said that the arrival of soil from Guru Ravidas Ji's birthplace in Punjab feels as though Guru Sahib himself has come to bless everyone. He noted that Guru Ravidas Ji had given the concept of 'Begumpura' centuries ago, aimed at creating a society free of discrimination or social hierarchy. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas' draws its inspiration from this very concept of 'Begumpura'.
Dhillon further informed that the BJP government has reconstructed Guru Ravidas Ji's birthplace in Varanasi, along with a large community kitchen hall, an impressive museum, and a magnificent statue, calling it a true tribute at Guru Ji's feet. He added that Punjab's Adampur Airport was named after Guru Ravidas Ji, Sant Niranjan Das Ji was honoured with the Padma Shri award, and a special express train was launched between Jalandhar and Varanasi. He said that the Guru Sahibans included Guru Ravidas Ji's sacred hymns in 'Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji', forging a bond with Punjab even deeper than one of blood.
The Punjab BJP President thanked national president Nitin Nabin and the entire party leadership for launching the nationwide campaign running from Guru Purnima to Magh Purnima. He said this is not merely a campaign, but a movement to carry Guru Ravidas Ji's teachings to every household. He appealed to every BJP leader, office-bearer, and worker in Punjab to bring together saints, religious committees, youth, and women to turn this campaign into a 'mass movement' and a 'mission of service'. He said that bringing unity and brotherhood into society would be the truest tribute to Guru Ravidas Ji. A large number of BJP leaders and workers were present on the occasion.
