Traffic police urge commuters to avoid Chakkar Crossing and take alternative routes as PWD works to clear landslide debris.
Due to continuous heavy rainfall in Shimla, the road near Chakkar Crossing has been closed as a precautionary measure for traffic following a landslide from the nearby hill. The closure of the road has affected the movement of vehicles, in view of which the traffic police have appealed to drivers not to use this route and to take alternative routes instead.
A traffic police team has been deployed at the spot, and necessary steps are being taken to keep traffic flow smooth. Meanwhile, the Public Works Department (PWD) is working on a war footing to clear the debris and restore the road as soon as possible.
The administration has advised people to remain patient, follow the instructions of the traffic police, and drive at a controlled speed while maintaining a safe distance during the rain. In view of the weather conditions, people have also been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and to check the latest traffic updates before setting out on a journey.
