Two planning to rob businessman in Bathinda arrested; weapons recovered
According to the DGP, accused Vikas Arora has a criminal background, including involvement in a domestic violence case
The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, has apprehended two accused who were planning to rob a businessman in Bathinda, in a joint operation with Bathinda Police, the DGP Punjab Police informed on Saturday.
The arrested accused have been identified as Jacky Kumar alias Jacky and Vikas Arora. The teams have recovered illegal weapons from their possession.
As per the preliminary investigation, the weapons were procured from Delhi. The DGP, in a statement today, said that further linkages are being verified.
According to the DGP, accused Vikas Arora has a criminal background, including involvement in a domestic violence case. Further investigation is underway.
Police have recovered two country-made .32 bore pistols along with magazines and four live cartridges.
Punjab Police said it is committed to taking strict action against criminal elements and ensuring public safety across the state.
